Is cholesterol really bad for you?

Unfortunately the idea that cholesterol is unhealthy is a flawed and quite over simplified view as it is very important to the way our body functions and maintaining healthy cells.

We have been told for so many years to eat polyunsaturated fats like canola and soybean oil,

We have either exercised too little or at a level that is way too stressful

All this has done, together with a high carbohydrate diet of sugar and grains is encourage inflammation and oxidation of our cardiovascular system, which can then become real risk factors for heart disease.

Your level of heart disease risk is better determined through high triglyceride, low HDL cholesterol, high glucose values and other indicators of system inflammation rather than conventional wisdom view of total cholesterol numbers.

But in the end, the best way of preventing heart disease is to move to a diet of low carbohydrate, medium protein high healthy fats, removing grains, sugars and processed foods and fats and exercise in line with the primal lifestyle.
