Are fats good for you?

Although it contradicts general wisdom many long-term studies have now confirmed that eating healthy fats can actually help prevent cancer & heart disease and form a key component of the eating plan that I follow and coach others.

Healthy fats as I have spoken about previously are a combination of saturated and unsaturated fats and provide an excellent source of energy and many nutrients to assist good health.

Saturated fat also forms an integral part of our cells membranes.

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (found in cold water fish like sardines and wild salmon) have been regarded as healthy fats for some time as they help our cardiovascular, brain, skin and immune functions. They also help to reduce the risk of high blood pressure, arthritis and autoimmune disorders.

With this in mind it’s certainly worth making the change to healthy fats today.
